The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has announced its 2024/25 season calendar and a range of new strategies focused on innovation and digitization.
The unveiling took place at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen, Nairobi, where KVF President Charles Nyaberi emphasized the importance of adopting global best practices, particularly in technology.
As part of its digitization campaign, the federation has introduced several reforms, including a new website for live streaming matches, live scoring and an extensive social media initiative designed to engage fans more effectively.
Nyaberi highlighted that this campaign will create numerous opportunities, generating and developing new ideas for players and stakeholders alike.

“The goal moving forward is to enhance the visibility, popularity, and commercial value of volleyball in Kenya by building a strong brand, attracting more fans, increasing media coverage, and securing sponsorships,” Nyaberi stated.
KVF also showcased its various programs and products, including the KVF National League, the national women’s team Malkia Strikers, KVF Youth Development, KVF Beach Volleyball and the men’s national team Wafalme Stars.
National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) President Paul Tergat praised the federation’s bold steps in advancing the sport.

“At NOC, we recognize the pivotal role volleyball plays in elevating Kenya’s sports profile globally. This season launch by the KVF marks a significant step forward in our shared vision to inspire, empower, and build champions.
The Road to LA 2028 and Dakar 2026 begins now. Together with our partners, we’re committed to nurturing talent and creating pathways for our athletes to excel on the world stage.”
Peter Tum, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, echoed these sentiments, stating that, “This is an exciting moment for Kenyan volleyball, marking a season that will undoubtedly bring new energy and engagement to the sport.

The event was attended by KVF officials, the national teams, players from the National League, sponsors, and representatives from the Sports Ministry.
The 2024/2025 KVF League will kick off on October 31 and November 1 in Nyeri, with top teams expected to compete for early league dominance.
